Website Design & Build
Here at vividfish we design web applications and websites through to complex applications such as CRM systems - by following a tried and tested approach that ensures that both parties understand precisely what is to be delivered by each of us, in what format and when. There are staged payments that aid cashflow on both sides and ensure that committment to the project is maintained. We build any project in five simple phases - Commissioning, Specification, Build, Testing and Post Build - each one is set out below in a little more detail and the process works like this:
Commissioning Phase
- Enquiry from customer and VividFish send out a site requirements document
- Outline discussion about the site, objectives for the site and possible functionality
- VividFish submit an estimate based upon the discussion
- Client accepts the estimate
Specification Phase
- Client and VividFish meet to discuss site detail in terms of functionality and design
- VividFish produce a design specification, site map and function specification
- Client provides specifications and provides all site content – eg: images/logos, corporate identity guidelines and copy (or is supplied by a third party agency)
- VividFish produces a graphic representation of the site
- VividFish also highlight any anomalies between stage 2 and 7 and list variances
- VividFish produces time line, responsibilities and milestones
- Client agrees specifications, anomalies & any cost/time implications
Build Phase
- VividFish build structure and design elements as Alpha site on local server
- Once Alpha site is proven to work this becomes Beta and is made available on the VividFish online development server
Testing Phase
- VividFish walk the client through the website and the functionality and content
- VividFish & Client produce a snagging list of corrections in line with the agreed specification
- Items identified for further development are listed for Phase II
- VividFish resolve corrections from snagging list
- Client signs off website
- Site made public.
Post Build Phase
- Search engine campaigns
- Support & maintenance
- Phases 2+ initiated by developments identified as desirable during the site development
